Chapter 3: page 62-82


Use the (WHITE) Entrepreneurship textbook. Please share as needed. We are discussing "how to develop a business plan." Remember each student will be creating their own business plan to present to Beacon Credit Union and the class.  The assignments today will help prepare you for the concepts over your business plan. You will find all the the HANDOUTS sitting at your letter stands.

Assignment #1: Why is a Business Plan Important (Handout: Front and Back)
Using the (white) textbook.  There are T/F, Multiple Choice and Problem Solving sections.  Each Problem Solving section says "Explain"...make sure you completely explain your answer in each section. Do not just write down a few words. Use the book and provided detailed.  Answer each question and turn it into the 2nd period tray when you are finished.


Assignment #2: What Goes into a Business Plan (Handout: Front and Back)
Using the (white) textbook.  There are T/F, Multiple Choice and Problem Solving sections.  Each Problem Solving section says "Explain"...make sure you completely explain your answer in each section. Do not just write down a few words. Use the book and provided detailed.  Answer each question and turn it into the 2nd period tray when you are finished.

Do not just write down a few words. Use the book and provided detailed.  Answer each question and turn it into the 2nd period tray when you are finished.

    Each student in class will need to answer the following 3 questions.  This will help me assess where you are as we start this project. Complete this form and press SUMBIT.

    This is where you can quietly brainstorm to me
    (Mrs. Johnson) any of your ideas.  If you feel clueless or don't know where to start with an idea, let me know!!! My job is to help guide you!!   If you have a passion or an interest, but you don't know how to make it a business, share this with me and I will help you. I need to know what you are interested in.

    *** Remember: Christmas is around the corner. People like to shop, presents need to be wrapped, and there are a lot of ideas that can be geared towards this time of year!

    HERE ARE A FEW IDEAS:
    • Custom Christmas Ornaments for Christmas time
    • Candy Bouquet with a special message delivered
    • Candy Cups with a special message delivered
    • Custom GCM Picture Frames
    • Custom Fleece (Knot) Blankets
    • Santa Pictures during lunch 
    ...these are just a few thoughts. You can run with one of these ideas or come up with something on your own!

    You need to start researching online and checking your costs.  If you plan to outsource services to other CTE Classes on campus, let me know so I can work with the teachers and research those cost for you. 


    You need to PLAN your EXPECTED COSTS...here is an example:
     
    Custom-Made GCM Picture Frames
    Outsource Labor to Mr. Duhon's Construction Class
    • Purchase the materials and wood for the class
    Outsource Labor to AP Art Department to paint the frames
    • Purchase the cost of the paint for the class
    Business Ownership Class with take the orders during lunch, package and wrap the frames and make the deliveries.

    • Purchase the boxes, wrapping paper and tape
    • The ordering and delivering labor will be no cost
